About WSCTE

WSCTE is a professional organization that encourages the pursuit of excellence in the teaching of English in Washington State in public and private schools and colleges. In addition, the council takes seriously the charge of informing the citizens of Washington about best practice, current classroom conditions, and significant advances in the field. To that end, WSCTE will

*define and aid in promoting appropriate preparation for teachers of English;

*support and sponsor inservice programs for teachers of English;

*make known definitions, findings, and recommendations in publications and meetings;

*work continuously toward application of those practices which will lead to excellence in the teaching of English;

*inform the membership of its programs in achieving these goals.
